Indications
- Discreet localized deposits of fat that are resistant to
dieting or exercise - Areas typically treated include the hips, buttocks, thighs,
and flanks

Procedure
- Through short, inconspicuous incisions, a small tube or cannula is inserted under the skin to remove the fat deposits and contour body shape
Recovery
- Bruising, numbness and discomfort for 2 weeks
- Patients wear a supportive garment for 4 weeks
- Return to work after 1 week, but no strenuous activity for 3-4 weeks
- Swelling at the surgery site may persist for 6 months
Result
- The resulting contour is permanent, provided there is no subsequent weight gain or loss
Risks
- Asymmetry, contour irregularity
- Infection, bleeding, fluid collection
- Blood clots
- Excessive fluid loss leading to shock
