Indications
- Facial asymmetry
- Dissatisfaction with an excessive prominence or exaggerated size of the forehead, cheeks, or angle of the jaw

Procedure
- Through remote or hidden incisions, the soft tissues are separated from the facial skeleton
- The overly prominent bones of the facial skeleton are contoured, reduced or repositioned
Recovery
- Swelling and bruising of the face peak at 2 days after surgery and largely resolve over the next 2 weeks
- Return to school or work after 2 weeks, but no strenuous activity or contact sports for 12 weeks
- Subtle swelling and numbness of the face will remain for up to 6 months
Result
- Provides a permanent enhancement of facial contours and proportions
Risks
- Infection, bleeding, scarring
- Residual asymmetry or deformity
- Numbness or weakness of the lips, cheeks or forehead
- Sinus inflammation, discomfort or headaches
